Implementation – Longevity

Community Partnerships
Elemental Media has partnered with Sterling Middle School and the Chick-fil-A in East Peoria, IL to create an event that will both educate the students about media literacy and provide them with the necessary tools and resources to manage symptoms of anxiety and depression they may stem from social media usage
Peoria Public School Foundation
In surveys conducted by OSF Healthcare, the highest proportion of children and adolescents using social media was found to be 11 – 14 year olds, averaging a screen-time of nine hours a day. The U.S. General discovered those spending an average of 3.5 hours a day on social media, are at double the risk of experiencing mental health issues including depression and anxiety. As such, we have decided to partner with Peoria Public School Foundation to reach this audience and reduce these behaviors before the students advance to the next stage of life.
Chick-fil-A (East Peoria, IL)
We have decided to partner with Chick-fil-A as an incentive to reward students for their commitment to learning about media literacy and taking action to combat the negative effects brought on by social media usage. As part of our partnership, Chick-fil-A has agreed to host the end-of-campaign event at their restaurant and donate coupons and snacks for the students to indulge. We were fortunate to work with Chick-fil-A as they have recently developed a Corporate Social Responsibility Plan that promotes partnerships to uplift and engage communities, which aligns with our campaign goals and objectives.
